Are reusable products safe?
Yes, if used correctly.
Ours are made with high-quality materials and designed for prolonged contact with the body.
Is it really hygienic to reuse them?
Absolutely. With proper cleaning, they are perfectly safe and hygienic.
This fact is confirmed by the midwives and gynecologists we collaborate with.
Can they cause irritation?
Generally no. In fact, they often help reduce irritation thanks to the materials they are made from.
How long do they last?
It depends a lot on usage (whether exclusive or occasional).
On average, reusable pads last 5 years, while period underwear lasts 3 years.
Are they suitable for all flows?
Yes, there are different absorbency levels (light, medium, heavy).
But the best part is that the more you wash them, the more absorbent they become.
Are these sterile products?
No, just like disposable alternatives, they are not sterile. They are hygienic products.
Can they cause bad odors?
No, if washed properly. Any unpleasant smell usually comes from residue that hasn’t been fully removed or from improper washing. Disposable products, on the other hand, often develop odors because of the low-quality materials they are made from.
How often should I change them?
It depends on your flow, but over time and with repeated washing they become more absorbent, so you’ll need to change them less frequently than disposables. We still recommend changing them at least every 8 hours.
Are they practical outside the house too?
Yes. You just need to carry a waterproof pouch (wet bag) to store them after use.
How many products do I need for one menstruation?
It depends on your flow. If it’s medium, around ten pieces are usually enough.
If your flow is heavy, we recommend adding a few more.
What materials are they made from? Are they breathable?
Each product is made with different materials, each with a specific function.
The layer in contact with the skin is always moisture-wicking, the inner layer is absorbent, and the outer layer is waterproof.
Waterproof yet breathable, because it can retain liquids while allowing vapor to pass through and disperse outward.
Why do you use white for the layer in contact with the skin?
White allows you to see the color of your blood, understand the quantity, and check whether the product has been washed properly. In addition, white is generally recommended because it tends to contain fewer chemicals than colored fabrics. This reduces the risk of irritation or allergic reactions in such a sensitive area.
Can I wash them in the washing machine?
Absolutely yes. Ideally, use a 30°C wash cycle without fabric softener. You can wash the pads together with other garments after a quick hand rinse to remove most of the blood.
What if stains remain on the pad/panty?
If the product has been washed correctly, any remaining stain is not a problem. It’s important to know that how easily blood is removed does not depend on the amount of blood, but rather on its color: darker blood, for example, is more difficult to remove than bright red blood. Wash the pad/pany as recommended, use the suggested products, and take advantage of the sun’s natural stain-removing power. If a slight stain still remains, rest assured that it does not affect the product’s performance in any way.
Why can’t I use fabric softener?
Fabric softeners leave a coating on fabrics that makes the fibers less able to absorb liquids, reducing the pad’s effectiveness. They can also reduce the breathability of the fabrics. Replace it with citric acid instead.
Can I wash them only by hand?
Of course. With a bit of patience and elbow grease.
How do reusable pads stay in place in underwear?
Thanks to the snap buttons that prevent side-to-side movement.
Cotton underwear that fits snugly, provides support, and ideally has a wider gusset also helps prevent shifting forward and backward.
How many should I start with?
If your flow changes depending on the day of your period, try one of our starter kits, which lets you test all the models we produce. You might also want to add a pair of period underwear.
Otherwise, start with 3–5 pads of the same model and/or 1–2 pairs of period underwear.
Can I use them postpartum as well?
Absolutely. Both pads and period underwear are extremely comfortable in the days following childbirth. If you don’t feel ready to use them in the hospital, you can start once you’re back home. Your skin will benefit greatly from it. Between the two options, reusable pads are often preferred because they adapt more easily to body changes, while period underwear depends heavily on sizing: after giving birth, the body changes temporarily, and it’s common to need a different size than usual.
How do I keep them soft?
Avoid using too much soap during washing and use citric acid if the water in your area is particularly hard. After drying, gently scrunch them with your hands.
Can I swim while wearing a period swimsuit?
Of course. Our swimsuits have an absorbent layer and a waterproof barrier that help contain menstrual flow while you’re in the water. They are designed for light to medium flow or to be used together with an internal menstrual product. In water, the flow often temporarily decreases because of the pressure, but it does not stop completely. For this reason, after swimming, it’s best to change and rinse the swimsuit.
Can I return the products?
For hygiene reasons, used products cannot be returned.
